ABOUT ME

SANIA SANGHANI

Hi! My name is Sania Sanghani and I am now a rising senior at Tesoro High School. My partner, Suki, and I began this nonprofit 4 years ago when we were just 14 years old during the first summer after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our hopes for this organization were for it to be a way to keep the minds of young students active and alert during the difficult times of the pandemic, to make them aware of the background, effects, and ongoing improvements of the deadly virus and the vaccines, and to ensure that they have all of the support and academic stimulation they need in order for them not to fall behind in school as the temporary switch to online school occurred. A few things about me are that I am a very dedicated student and have always had 2 very significant passions. One for learning, and one for children. I am an all honors student and have generously been recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction, as a result of my high scores over my past 7 AP exams, including AP Computer Science, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP Language and Composition, AP Spanish, AP European History, and AP US History. Starting in the fall I plan to continue my educational dedication by taking AP Literature, AP Psychology, AP Biology, AP Economics, and AP Calculus BC. In my school I am ranked among the top 9% of my class and currently have a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.75. Aside from school, over the past year I have volunteered for  over 150 hours at Kaiser Hospital in Irvine, California. I have also been employed as a lifeguard as well as a swim instructor at Goldfish Swim School, and I teach children from the age of just 4 months all the way to 13 years old how to swim and be safe in the water. I truly have a love for learning, and even more so a love for spreading that knowledge to the younger minds of my generation, and I feel that because Suki and I are of similar age to our students, we connect on a different level with them and we maintain our position in their lives as not just their teachers but their friends as well, and we provide a comfortable and fun learning environment for them, which results in a more beneficial learning experience.

ABOUT ME

SUKI CHANDOK

Hi! I'm Sukhmani (Suki) Chandok, a rising senior at Tesoro High School. Four years ago, when my friend Sania and I were incoming freshmen, we embarked on an inspiring journey that led us to establish our own non-profit organization. In the midst of the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, we recognized the importance of keeping young minds active and engaged. Our mission was clear: every child deserves the best education possible. No child left behind. A little bit about me. In school, I  maintain an all-honors status and  a weighted GPA of 4.5. As the fall approaches, I eagerly anticipate immersing myself in a rigorous academic schedule, embracing subjects such as AP Literature, AP German, AP Chemistry, AP Economics, and digital photography. However, my passion extends beyond the classroom. Over the past year, I dedicated over 250 hours of my time to volunteering at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California. Within the HS Volunteer Auxiliary, I hold the esteemed position of VP of Community Outreach, a role through which I lead the helmet team, providing free helmets to children aged 17 and younger. Furthermore, I initiate and oversee impactful fundraisers and drives, including our Back to School Angel Program, which supplies essential school items to children and families in need. It fills me with immense joy to empower these young minds, instilling in them the belief that knowledge is power. In essence, my journey encompasses a fervent love for learning and an unwavering commitment to serving my community. I am excited to continue making a positive impact, both through my academic endeavors and my dedication to uplifting others.
